"We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill
Thanksgiving is next Thursday and as we prepare to celebrate the holiday, my mind goes to how truly blessed we are to live in a country that offers us the freedoms that we have. I hope that you will take a moment to reflect on those blessings next Thursday before we sit down to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast or turn on a football game.
Last week millions of Americans went to the polls and elected a new President. Again, we are fortunate to live in a country where we have the freedom to vote for the candidate of our choice. Now my prayer is that we will all join together and work towards healing the wounds of this country.
Pre-Legislative District Tour
As some of you may know, the 2017 session of the Virginia General Assembly will begin on January 11th. In preparation for the session, I will be visiting parts of the district for a listening tour. I want to know what is important to you and your communities for the upcoming session. Also, if you are having an issue with a state agency, this is a perfect time to let me know about it. I hope that you will mark your calendars and come out to see me.
