I was honored to meet with the community and business leaders of Farmville and Prince Edward County in Farmville this Wednesday. Senator Mark Peake joined me as we listened to all the positive things that are happening in the area as well as their concerns, wish lists and possible plans for solutions. Senator Peake and I will be working on identified state issues during the next general assembly session.
I invite anyone to contact me with concerns or solutions to problems in your area. I will listen to any suggestion for possible legislation you deem necessary.
In 1962 President John F. Kennedy declared, and Congress approved, that the week following National Peace Officers Memorial Day (May 15) would be known as National Police Week. This week (May 14-20) recognizes all law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
This week I decided to honor those lives by visiting with some of the law enforcement agencies in the 60th District and take them a special treat! I believe my Cookies for Copscampaign was well received as is witnessed by some pictures below.
Won't you join me in showing appreciation to all those men and women in uniform who work daily to make our lives safer?

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Liberals think we should all be equal at the finish line.
Conservatives think we should all be equals at the start line.
