Merry ChristmasChristmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.  Norman Vincent Peale

Last year I started showing my appreciation for the hard work that teachers do in a very special way - with cash donations for classroom supplies!! The program was so well received that I decided to do it again this year.

Anyone could nominate a teacher who had made an impression on them by calling WHLF Radio in South Boston when they heard the Tout the Teacher tagline announced. So far this year, I have had 13 winners.

This week's newsletter is all about the teachers! I want to publicly let them know how much I appreciate what they do on a daily basis and how important I know that education is to the future of our children and our communities.

If you see a teacher, please take a moment and let them know how much you appreciate them too!

The influence of teachers extends beyond the classroom, well into the future. It is they who shape and enrich the minds of the young, who touch their hearts and souls. It is they who shape a nation's future. F. Sionil Jose

Quote of the Day:
Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. Calvin Coolidge
