Del. James Edmunds announces re-election bid

Posted in News

Del. James Edmunds II on Friday announced his plans to seek re-election to a fifth two-year term in the Virginia House of Delegates.

First elected in 2008, Delegate Edmunds represents the 60th District in the Virginia House of Delegate and covers all of Charlotte, Halifax and Prince Edward Counties, and a portion of Campbell.

“For the past eight years, I have had the honor of representing the 60th District in the Virginia House of Delegates. I remain committed to the values and traditions we hold so dear here in rural Southern Virginia,” Edmunds said.

“As our State continues to grow, rural influence continues to diminish. During my term, I have forged respectful relationships with legislators in the more urban areas of our state which allows me to more effectively represent our area and to work for the best solutions possible in any given circumstance,” he added.

"We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill

HALIFAX-
Thanksgiving is next Thursday and as we prepare to celebrate the holiday, my mind goes to how truly blessed we are to live in a country that offers us the freedoms that we have. I hope that you will take a moment to reflect on those blessings next Thursday before we sit down to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast or turn on a football game.

Last week millions of Americans went to the polls and elected a new President. Again, we are fortunate to live in a country where we have the freedom to vote for the candidate of our choice. Now my prayer is that we will all join together and work towards healing the wounds of this country.

James Edmunds Announces For A Fourth Term in Virginia House of Delegates

Posted in News

Delegate James EdmundsFor the past six years, I have had the honor of representing the 60th District in the Virginia House of Delegates. Today I announce my intention to run for a fourth term so that I can continue to represent the 60th District in Richmond.

I remain committed to the values and traditions we hold so dear here in rural Southern Virginia. As our State continues to grow, rural influence continues to diminish. Over the past six years, I have forged respectful relationships with legislators in the more urban areas of our state which allows me to more effectively represent our area and to work for the best solutions possible in any given circumstance.

My service on the Agriculture, Natural Resources and Conservation Committee; the Health, Welfare and Institutions Committee; and the Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee gives me the opportunity to protect our interests in these three critical areas. In addition, as chairman of the Natural Resources sub-committee of Agriculture, I am in a position to have a direct influence on issues that affect our rural heritage.
