Richmond – James Edmunds (R – Halifax), who is serving his third term representing the 60th District in the Virginia House of Delegates, was appointed today to serve on the Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission.

Delegate Edmunds is owner and operator of Edmunds Farms in Halifax. He also owns and operates Non Typical Outdoors, a company producing and distributing seed plot mixes specifically formulated for wildlife. In addition, Delegate Edmunds has operated the Halifax County Fair for the past four years. A graduate of Averette College (now University), he is a fourth-generation, life-long resident of Halifax County and has been operating the family farm since his father's untimely death in 1988. He is married to the former Jennifer Wilkerson and has two children, Paul – 14 and Caroline – 10.

"Being appointed to the Tobacco Commission was one of my highest priorities. I am extremely pleased to be able to have a direct impact on decisions made by the Commission that affect so many farmers and businesses in the communities I represent," stated Edmunds.
