Dear Friend,

The critical November 7th elections are less than 7 weeks away. Your vote will make the difference in determining the direction of our Commonwealth.

The deadline to register to vote or to update your current voter registration to participate in this year's general election is October 16th.

If you will be unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, November 7th, you can vote Absentee In-Person or vote Absentee by Mail.

You will be able to vote Absentee In-Person beginning Friday, September 22nd.

Halifax:
Front page in today's Richmond Times Dispatch, U.S. Judge Upholds Virginia's Voter ID Law. In his ruling, the judge noted that Virginia provides free voter IDs, giving all of its citizens "an equal opportunity to participate in the electoral process."

I supported this bill because voting should be open to any legally qualified voter and providing a valid picture ID helps to ensure that.
